It’s about the right time to sing a chorus of “Almost There” when it comes to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the much anticipated new ride coming to the Walt Disney World resort. The opening day for the log ride, an attraction taking the place of fan favorite Splash Mountain at Disney’s Magic Kingdom park, will be June 28th. It’s going to be a fun summer!
The “Princess and the Frog”-inspired attraction is set to bring familiar characters to life, as well as new ones.
Disney previously shared that the new ride will feature dozens of animatronics, with original voice actors reprising their roles, including Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana.
There will also be a new band of lovable critters that were created especially for the ride.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will feature tunes from the movie and a new original soundtrack from New Orleans artist PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard.
The critters featured in the ride will part of a band playing zydeco-style music on instruments they created from items found in the bayou.
Artwork from renowned Louisiana artists, such as Malaika Favorite and Sharika Mahdi will adorn the attraction.
Additionally, the scent of freshly made beignets will fill the air as guests wait in the queue, adding to the exprience of strolling through the French Quarter – yum!
