Attractions That Closed For Good In 2015…

Orlando Attractions Update – Just in case you hadn’t noticed several big theme parks and small attractions alike in Orlando closed some of their familiar features in 2015.

Courtesy of the Orlando Sentinel here’s the full list of the attractions that left the theme park lineup this year – so long….farewell!

•Universal Studios axed Disaster and Twister. They will be replaced (in 2017) by Fast & Furious: Supercharged and Ride Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon, respectively.

•”Captain EO” was retired from Epcot’s Future World — again. It was replaced by Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival.

•Disney announced it will no longer hold the Star Wars Weekends event at Hollywood Studios.

•Walt Disney World Speedway was closed — and demolished — outside the Ticket & Transportation Center.

•CSI: The Experience, an International Drive procedural attraction, closed alongside “Consumed by Art” and “Leonardo da Vinci: Man-Inventor-Artist-Genius.”

•Busch Gardens in Tampa closed Gwazi, a wooden roller coaster.

In addition, some closures were announced in 2015 but the final days will be in 2016.

•The final day for Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be Jan. 3.

•The final curtain for Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue stage show at Universal Studios will be Jan. 5. That space will make room for Fast & Furious: Supercharged.

•Wet ‘n Wild water park will close at the end of 2016. Universal is opening Volcano Bay “a new water theme park experience” in 2017.
