The Original Everglades Airboat Pioneers

The Florida Everglades ecosystem is like no other in the United States and known all over the world.

Captain Mitch’s Everglades Airboat Rides is more than just another attraction. It is part of the heritage of South Florida.

If you’re looking for the real McCoy in this part of the state then you just got lucky!

1. Generations of Family

Captain Mitch House has been in the Airboat tour and tourist attraction industry since he was knee-high to a bullfrog (that’s Florida talk for a kid). He ended up following in the footsteps of his great-grandfather Barrel Head House, who built one of the first commercial Airboats in 1945. Captain Mitch himself has been in the airboat business for 30 years so you’re in the best possible hands.

2. A True Original

These guys can lay claim to being the original south Florida thrill ride!  This is the home of the first commercial airboat, so that potentially makes Captain Mitch’s the first out of the gate – or if you prefer, the first across the swamp at high speed! There is no replacing that – so sit back and ride that wave of nostalgia.

3. Super Swamp Tours

While the tour itself may have a few more guests in it, these swamplands are all yours. Captain Mitch’s Everglades Airboat Tours take you on an exciting ride through thousands of acres of PRIVATE swampland! That’s pretty great as it means it’s just you, your captain, and a whole bunch of gators.

4. Educational & Entertaining

The local captains will show you alligators, birds, snakes, and more on the one-hour airboat ride through the Florida Everglades. Learn about the Eco-system and how it works, the nesting habits of alligators, and the many flora and fauna native to this area. Qestions? The Captains love to show off their knowledge, so ask away.
