International Drive Update – The giant Coca-Cola Orlando Eye observation wheel will be closed for ten days starting today. It’s time for the I- Drive attraction’s annual maintenance inspections so guests planning a ride this week may have to re-schedule their visit. The Eye will reopen at 10 a.m. on Feb. 9.
Regular maintenance is done in overnight sessions, while larger projects involving the 400-foot-tall big wheel are performed annually during this pre-planned 10-day closure window..
Madame Tussauds Orlando and Sea Life Orlando, sister attractions running out of the same terminal, will fortunately stay open during the shutdown period. All three attractions, located in the I-Drive 360 complex, are operated by Merlin Entertainment Group.
