Go Fishing

There’s an absurd amount of fishing you can do here on the Space Coast. Offshore charters out of Port Canaveral or the Sebastian Inlet will have you reeling in big fish like Mahi, grouper, and sailfish. Take things a little easier when you take a guided lagoon trip. Don’t forget that snook season opened on September 1st! Head west and stop in Palm Bay for some of the best bass fishing in the country. Or take it to the beach and go surf fishing where you can reel in pompano, sheepshead, and others.

4 WAYS TO FISH ON THE SPACE COAST

Plan a Beach Day

There are 72 miles of beaches to explore on Florida’s Space Coast. If you’re looking for some serious space to spread out this Labor Day weekend, we’ve got you covered. A few of our favorite beaches are perfect for you to lay out a towel, pop your umbrella, and enjoy some quiet time with your loved ones.

Sebastian Inlet State Park

If you want it all, go to Sebastian Inlet State Park. With hiking, biking, and kayak trails you’re going to have a few decisions to make. Or you can cast a line into the lagoon or the Atlantic from the fishing pier. A restaurant and gift shop are on-site, so you can spend your whole day here. Or you can do it the Space Coast way and reserve a campsite for 3 days of Sebastian Inlet sun and smiles!

Patrick Space Force Base

Just south of Cocoa Beach, this stretch of shoreline is some of the best sea shelling and wide open space on the Space Coast. Check out one of the many beaches (with free parking) for the day and when you’re hungry, keep driving south to Satellite Beach for some great local restaurants. Looking for a more lively Labor Day? Head north to Downtown Cocoa Beach for live music and a huge selection of bars and restaurants.

Melbourne Beach

Melbourne Beach is a great option for families looking to get off the beaten path. Further south on the Space Coast, Melbourne Beach is known for its blue waters, sparse population, and tons of sea turtles. Add a sunrise stroll to your day and maybe you’ll see some hatchlings make their way into the deep blue!

Rent a Boat or Jet Ski

Relaxing on the Space Coast is a day on the Indian River Lagoon. Book a sail on a catamaran with Sail Cocoa Beach to enjoy the day without having to lift a finger, that is unless you want to. Or if you’re looking to captain your own ship, 321 Boat Club & Cape Crossing Marina offer a fleet of sport, fishing, or pontoon boats so you can explore our waterways on your own.
