Mako Coaster Track Is Completed….

Orlando Attractions Update – The nearly mile-long track of Mako has been installed at SeaWorld Orlando.

The roller coaster is billed as the tallest, fastest and longest coaster in Orlando, topping out at 200 feet and reaching 73 mph. It is a hypercoaster, meaning riders will experience weightlessness as they reach the top of each hill.

Mako is the feature attraction of SeaWorld’s expanded shark area that includes Shark Encounter aquarium and the attached Sharks Underwater Grill restaurant.

The final piece of the 4,760-foot track was bolted into place this week. That piece weighs 12,500 pounds.

Mako topped out at its 200-foot mark in January. The coaster is set to open this summer, though an official opening date has yet to be announced. Mako is the fourth roller coaster at SeaWorld, joining Kraken, Manta and Shamu Express, a junior coaster.
