Louise’s Lowdown On All Things Universal

Hey!

I’m guessing we are all slowly starting to defrost! To those lucky folk who have been living it up in the Sunshine State this past week we are all green with envy! I hope you managed a last splash at Magic Kingdom!

This week I’m giving you the lowdown on all things Universal Orlando… What’s hot, what’s not and what’s believe it or not 😉!

I’ll tell you about my favourite rides,  the family friendly hot spots and some killer snacks along the way… Universal is a firm winner for the whole family… picture your favourite movies transformed in to the ultimate attractions! As always I know that Florida holidays really pull on the purse strings so my first recommendation swings you to get your park tickets this side of the water! We offer the amazing 3 park explorer ticket, this gives you unlimited access for 14 days to Universal, IOA and Volcano Bay! The best bit… it is cheaper than a 2 day park to park ticket!

**Do be mindful, these tickets are only available for our UK and Ireland customers**

Let’s dive in…

Where’s our Wizarding World fans? Get them to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure and unleash your inner magic! Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey takes you on a in depth journey in to the world of Harry Potter – featuring some of the newest technology take on the Death Eaters, try your hand at a Quidditch match and make your getaway through Hogwarts castle..

Did I really skip past the hottest, most talked about attraction right now? VELOCICOASTER!!!!

The ultimate Jurassic World attraction…

Jurassic World VelociCoaster will really take some beating… after only opening in 2021 it is still the talk of the town! You will struggle to  find another exhilarating  ride like it… spanning a distance of 4000 feet go 0-50 in 2 seconds, 155 feet tall and a drop of 140 feet.

Jumping over  to Universal Studio’s… Revenge of the Mummy is our next spot. This thriller is an inside launch roller coaster in the dark! Replica’s of your favourite film props are lurking throughout, the mummies really will get you from all angles! The fear is real with this one, especially for those like me who don’t like the dark haha!

Would I be talking about thrill rides if I didn’t include the Hulk! Back to IOA we go for this one… It’s the rollercoaster you see on all the post cards, the big green one!

Wondering what’s around for all the family?

Over at Universal Studio’s you will find this Despicable Me! All the little ones love those mischievous yellow guys…  it can have long wait times so I would recommend heading there first if you are there at opening time! Motion simulators are good laughs for all ages. Don’t forget the minions are busy constructing the newest area dedicated to them opening Summer 2023!

The Cat in the Hat – this classic Dr Seuss book comes to life as you swing your way through the house. Don’t forget the gift shop in Seuss landing – you will find your iconic thing 1 and thing 2 shirts here! Seuss Landing is at IOA and holds another family favourite, but you run the chance of getting a little wet… One fish, two fish, up up up! My favourite part of Seuss Landing comes alive at Christmas time, where you can take part in the ultimate Grinchmas celebrations! Who needs to meet Santa when his green furry counterpart is waiting?

How can we talking about family loves without going to everyone’s favourite extra-terrestrial? Grab your bike as you help E.T, who’s riding upfront in the basket!

Lastly, for those older kids… here come the Men in Black! Be a galaxy defender as you take on the alien attack!! Beat your team mates, we want to see who gets the highest score!

Wondering where to get some incredible snacks?

Have you even been to Universal if you haven’t had a butterbeer and took a photo of it for the gram? Frozen, chilled, or hot ? I’ll let you decide your favourite although, I’ve heard  it’s frozen or nothing!

The  Chocolate Emporium at City Walk will fulfil the needs of the whole family – Don’t worry there are some savoury snacks for those who don’t have a sweet tooth. I’ll say no more the picture speaks for itself!

Ever wanted Green Eggs and Ham? We are back at Seuss Landing for this one… Whilst the eggs aren’t green the tater tots are not to be missed…

That’s a wrap from me this week…  Next week we are going to have a look at some of the other not to be missed attractions around Orlando aside from the big theme parks!

Have a great weekend!

Louise 😊
