Louise’s Lowdown On Things In Spring

Hi everyone! I hope you enjoyed last weeks lowdown on my favourite spots outside of the big parks – if you haven’t seen it yet jump back to ‘The Scoop’ to get some pointers!

There have been some exciting bits coming out of the parks this week, especially with the beginning of  rides for those exclusive members to experience Tron at Magic Kingdom. It looks absolutely fantastic although shorter than I imagined it would be, the opinions coming out at the moment are saying it is a thrilling experience and super immersive, with the only down side being for those slightly on the larger side were having long waits for larger seats as it looks like the standard seats are squeezier than Avatar! We can’t wait for April to get in there! Check out the video below for a teaser…

The construction signs are up, and Splash Mountain has left! Scaffolding has started to go up as the transformation to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure have officially started, whilst I’m so sad to say goodbye to Splashy, I am eagerly waiting for a 2024 splash with Tiana! The Princess and the Frog gives us the best feel-good storyline and songs! So be prepared for this musical boat ride and sing your heart out along the way. To those who don’t already know… Tiana, Naveen and Louis are preparing for the grand Mardi Gras celebration, as they make way through the Bayou they make some new friends along the way.

The reopening of Enchanted Tales with Belle  is coming back on 19th February to Magic Kingdom following it’s closure in 2020! This will be a busy one for the Beauty and the Beast fans.

Get your last rides in on the Rock n Roller Coaster before 20th February as it will be closing for a much needed refurbishment – the current plans are showing a scheduled re opening this Summer. There isn’t currently any released plans for a theme change but the rumour mill has been running… are we going to lose Aerosmith soon?

What’s also coming to Disney this year? The latest Hollywood Studios announcment is the official opening date for Round Up Rodeo BBQ! The new table service restaurant in Toy Story Land is opening on 23rd March! My all time favourite part of Toy Story Land has to be Slinky Dog Dash… The chilled out coaster brings maximum enjoyment with the oversized toys – My best advice ride when it’s dark the lighting brings extra thrills!

Universal’s Mardi Gras parade has touched down, this annual event is not to be missed! This family friendly event captures all the colours, vibes and excitement you would expect in New Orleans. Catch the wow factor floats as they make way through Universal’s streets accompanied by the magnificent stilt walkers. Be sure to catch some beads as they are thrown from the floats… Imagining yourself on the floats? You really can! Be sure to jump on the Universal app around 3pm and reserve your spot in the virtual line to hop aboard one of the floats to take part in the parade.

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching SeaWorld have released a perfect Valentine’s Day treat to celebrate with your fave! Grab your lover and chow down on a Romantic dinner at Sharks Underwater Grill and Bar! They are offering a special set menu, those chocolate covered strawberries will go down a treat! This special dinner is available for the whole valentine’s weekend!
