Jurassic World Velocicoaster Opens Today!

Four years in the making, Jurassic World’s VelociCoaster is finally taking off – it officially opens today at Universal’s Island of Adventure Park.

It’s based off of Universal’s popular Jurassic World franchise and is being lauded as Florida’s fastest and tallest launch coaster.

The brand new coaster features speeds up to 70 mph, 12 seconds of hair raising weightlessness and a gut wrenching 80-degree drop.

It’s already being described as the best thrill ride at Universal by many of the lucky guests who got to ride during the ‘soft’ opening over the last week.

You’ll just have to decide for yourself – check out the video!

It’s fair to say that  the thrills start even before getting on the ride as guests are confronted by velociraptors from the “Jurassic World” films from the moment they enter the attraction.

“Guests will be able to peer into the raptor paddock while venturing through the queue – and watch the hunt they are about to embark on unfold before their very eyes,” Universal Orlando Resort said in a press release released this week.

Riders of the Jurassic World VelociCoaster will also see depictions of the original cast of the film, including actor Christopher Pratt reprising his starring role as Owen Grady.
