Orlando Attractions Update – Spider-Man, Captain America and other superhero characters gathered at Islands of Adventure theme park this morning to mark the official re-opening of the Incredible Hulk Coaster.
The thrill ride, built in the park’s Marvel Super Hero Island, had been under renovation since last September. The new version has a new rail that follows the same path of the original ride, which debuted along with IOA in 1999. It also has new ride vehicles with on-board speaker system that plays a new composition by Patrick Stump of the group Fall Out Boy.
In addition, the attraction’s queue has had a makeover, and lighting effects also have been altered. The coaster’s reconfigured entrance is fronted by a statue of Hulk with a replica of the ride vehicle raised above his head.
“Every ride is engineered to have a certain life,” said Thierry Coup, vice president of Universal Creative. “We feel this was the right time for us to completely change it over and enhance the experience.”
