The unique accommodations feature HVAC, power, coffee maker, queen size bed and separate dressing area. They are designed to blend in with natural surroundings and are built with the planet in mind.
With emerald springs feeding the Wekiwa River and lush tropical hammocks, Wekiwa Springs State Park in Apopka is a natural water wonder and prime wildlife viewing spot. The list of what to see and what to do includes walking and biking trails, horseback riding, canoes and kayaks for rental on site. A good place for wildlife viewing is right along Main Park drive. Early morning and right before sunset are typically the best time for viewing white-tailed deer. Wild turkeys can be seen throughout the day in all areas of the park. The best place to see Sherman’s fox squirrels are on the trails that go past the youth camp.
The history of Rainbow Springs dates back centuries to a time when native people regularly visited this lush spring. Home to breathtaking beauty and one of Florida’s most magnificent first-magnitude springs, Rainbow Springs State Park features the crystal-clear, waters of the Rainbow River and where swimmers take a dip in the sapphire-blue waters of Rainbow Springs. Visitors walk through lush, mossy hammocks and shady gardens laced with azaleas, oaks and magnolias, and also pass by three man-made waterfalls. Other popular activities include birding, paddling, fishing, swimming and tubing.
