1. Race Fan Heaven


Early 2019 is when NASCAR  fans will think they’ve died and gone to heaven. The NASCAR series races will take place February 10-18, ending with the 60th running of the DAYTONA 500. Tickets are now on sale, so plan your holiday around an event that made Daytona famous.

2. Art Galleries


You could spend hours wandering through locally owned art galleries in Ormond Beach. Better yet, make your own, one-of-a-kind souvenir out of painted pottery at Whim Wham Art Studio. Or, view the works of regional and local artists who are frequently featured at the Lee Gallery, a section of the expansive Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center at Bethune-Cookman University. The gallery is the permanent home to a collection of African art, as well as Central Floridian art.

3. Live Performances


Daytona Beach has many theaters, playhouses, and venues that will tantalize your cultural side. With the Peabody Auditorium, Athens Theatre, the Ocean Center and the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center all within driving distance, there is sure to be something playing that will make you want to buy some tickets!

4. Museums


An entire day (or more!) could be spent soaking in the Museum of Arts & Sciences. This Smithsonian-affiliated museum is the area’s primary art, science and history museum featuring nationally-acclaimed collections, a state-of-the-art planetarium, and even a specified Children’s Museum. Then, head off to the Marine Science Center located at Ponce Inlet. It’s a hands-on experience where you can learn about local environmental and conservation efforts. Who said educational can’t be fun?

5. Relax


Of course, being in Florida, going to the beach in the Winter is not completely out of the question. The ocean may be a bit chilly, but pull up a blanket and an umbrella and enjoy the warm southern sunshine.
