This could well be the "Aligator Capital of the World" !! The amazing Gatorland homes hundreds of the original residents of Florida - the long and scaly residents! This lovely family owned park is focused heavily on conserving the habitats for the alligators and the other wildlife. The endangered species in the area including the alligators are part of a breeding program which is restoring the area (one of the endangered species is the Cuban Crocodile).
The main part of the park is the Breeding Marsh, a Cypress swamp where the swap dragons live. You can take the wooden boardwalk to get you up close and personal with these animals, and then climb the observation tower to get an all around view of the park. The Animal Enclosures Show is an exciting place to visit, including snakes, spiders, and a few toothy grins to go with it! Take in the the amazing show, Alligators-Legends of the Swamp!
There is a mini railway that runs around the park too.
You can even get some photos with baby alligators and a boa constrictor! One of the other unique shows and arguably the best is the Jumparoo, where hungry alligators jump up for food while you watch.
You can visit the Smokehouse to refresh yourself with themed food and drink.
