Peabody Walk Is Dead Duck…

I am trying to not quack up as I report to you that today is the last day for one of Orlando’s best known attractions (and definitely one of the cheapest) – the Peabody Duck March. Today is the day the ducks waddle off into retirement after over 25 years of strutting their stuff for thousands of visitors to this landmark hotel. Hyatt hotels have taken over the property and unfortunately the re-branding doesn’t include any feathered residents. Twice a day the ducks guided by their ‘duck master’ have paraded through the lobby and plopped into the central fountain to the applause of the assembled crowd and the flashes of dozens of camera phones. The ducks are retiring at the ‘beak’ of their career, heading off to enjoy their golden years at an as yet undisclosed location (hopefully not the poultry aisle …). Orlando Peabody Duck March – we will miss you guys!
