Understanding Disney’s Genie Service

Introducing Disney Genie service and Disney Genie+ service – these are convenient new itinerary planning products available to use during your visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

Upon launching Disney Genie service, you’ll have the opportunity to share what you’d like to do in a few easy steps. You can plan specific attractions, foodie experiences and entertainment, to special interests like Disney princesses, villains, Pixar, Star Wars, thrill rides and more.

Disney Genie service will then grant you a personalized itinerary that seamlessly and smartly maps out your special day—with updates that continue from morning to night. And, Disney Genie can even remind you when you’re eligible to book dining reservations and activities within the Enchanting Extras Collection.

When you let Disney Genie service be your guide, you’ll have quicker access to the up-to-date park information, so you can be more spontaneous and have more fun.

What’s New?

  • Tailored Recommendations – You’ll receive attraction and dining recommendations inspired in part by what you told Disney Genie service you’re most interested in doing. It even displays a good time to go to an experience and an idea of the forecasted wait. Need to swap a recommendation out? No problem. Disney Genie will continue to offer new suggestions throughout the day, so you can make the most of your time during your visit.
  • A Personalized Daily Itinerary – Your “My Day” tab is where you’ll find Disney Genie recommendations and any plans you’ve made, including dining reservations, Disney Resort hotel reservations and activity bookings. You’ll also be able to virtually chat with a Cast Member who can help answer any questions that arise.
  • A Custom Tip Board – This new feature will let you see estimated wait times for your top attractions, entertainment and dining. You’ll also be able to order food, make dining reservations, check into a restaurant, request to join an available virtual queue, and even book arrival times for the new Lightning Lane entrance at select experiences if you’ve purchased Disney Genie+ service.

In addition to getting all of the great features that come with the complimentary version of Disney Genie service, upgrading to Disney Genie+ service will offer even more convenience and flexibility. It’s the very best way to get the absolute most out of your visit—so you can spend more time enjoying the magic with family and friends.

  • Save Time Waiting in Line– This unique service lets you use the new Lightning Lane entrance at select attractions and experiences at the Walt Disney World theme parks. On average, guests can enter 2 to 3 attractions or experiences per day using the Lightning Lane entrance if the first selection is made early in the day.Beginning at 7:00 AM on the day of your visit, you’ll have the opportunity to secure your first arrival time.

  • Disney PhotoPass Lenses – Access special Disney PhotoPass Lenses for your mobile device, allowing you to explore magical new augmented reality effects.
  • Audio Tales – Discover the parks in cool new ways through fascinating fun facts and behind-the-scenes insights you can listen to during your visit.

You’ll be able to purchase Disney Genie+ service on the day of your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, subject to availability and change.

  • Purchase individual Lightning Lane entry (à la carte) for attractions that aren’t offered through Disney Genie+ service* or…

Lightning Lane Entry Through Disney Genie+ Service

Use the Lightning Lane entrances offered through the Disney Genie+ service and save time waiting in line. On average, Guests can enter 2 to 3 attractions or experiences per day using Lightning Lane entrances, if the first selection is made early in the day.

You can enjoy a Disney Genie+ service Lightning Lane entrance once per day. If you’d like to experience an attraction again or see a certain show again within the same day, you are welcome to use our regular standby line.

  • Same Day of Visit:
    Disney Genie+ can be purchased on the day of your visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

What Are the Rules?

  • Make sure you have valid admission and a theme park reservation to the same park on the same day.
  • Disney Genie+ service Lightning Lane entrance selections can only be made one at a time. You must redeem an existing Disney Genie+ service Lightning Lane reservation or wait 2 hours—whichever comes first—before making another Lightning Lane entrance selection through Disney Genie+ service.
  • Guests may be able to purchase Disney Genie+ service on the day of their park visit and make their first Disney Genie+ selection for Lightning Lane entry starting at 7:00AM.

Disney Genie+ service, attractions and experiences may vary by date, are subject to change or closure, are limited in availability and are not guaranteed and may not be available at all on the date of visit or at the time you make a selection.
