Coming Soon to Orlando
Fun Spot Action Park off International Drive will soon be undertaking a large 10 acre expansion that will double the number of rides and attractions and make the park three times it’s current size. Among other improvements in the works are a roller coaster, a small water park, and a new go-kart track – watch this space (spot!). Did we mention it’s HUGE?
Starting in 2013 KSC is to be the new permanent home for recently retired space shuttle Atlantis. Where else could be a more fitting place than Kennedy Space Center where so many of Atlantis’s history making missions began and ended! The new marquee attraction will provide a totally unique vantage point to observe the complex workings of the vehicle that revolutionized space travel. We’ve seen the blueprints it looks amazing!
SeaWorld Orlando’s biggest-ever attraction expansion will open spring 2013. Guests will be surrounded by the sights, sounds and awesome encounters found in this frozen place, embarking on a one-of-a-kind ride and an incredible family adventure. They’ll experience the mystery and wonder of life on the ice through the eyes of a penguin, sensing the beauty and drama of their sometimes-dangerous habitat. Expect it to be very, very cold!
The Walt Disney Co. has agreed on an exclusive deal to build attractions based on James Cameron’s blockbuster movie “Avatar” at its theme parks, starting with Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Fla.
The first “Avatar” land, which begins construction in 2013 and is expected to open about three years later, is to be an immersive experience in a land spanning several acres.
Coming Soon to Orlando is I-Drice Live, the $100 million project, on the former Mercado property north of the Orange County Convention Center and south of Sand Lake Road, will feature the Orlando Eye, an observation wheel similar to the London Eye.The 425-foot-high wheel will be flanked by a Madame Tussauds wax museum and a Sea Life aquarium.
The largest expansion in Magic Kingdom history has already begun nearly doubling the size of Fantasyland and delivering a new home for Ariel, new ways to interact with favorite Disney princesses, an exciting new family coaster, a double dose of Dumbo and more. More phases are scheduled to open in 2013/2014 so the new Fantasyland will immerse guests in Disney stories as never before.
